A volunteer for the Door County chapter of Habitat for Humanity has been named “Volunteer Of The Year” for “Habitat’s” Northeast Wisconsin region. Bob Jaeschke received the award at the “What Wisconsin Builds” volunteer awards banquet at the organization’s annual statewide conference in Wisconsin Dells. Rick Nelson, Executive Director of the Door County “Habitat” chapter, praised Jaeschke for his work on the local Board of Directors and Construction Committee and his leadership with the new “A Brush with Kindness” home repair initiative. Nelson said Jaeschke has assisted in updating floor plans, helped train participants for the “Women’s Build” program, helped with the first whole house remodel, and volunteers wherever he’s needed. There are currently 41 local Habitat affiliates in Wisconsin. Door County’s chapter was created in 1993.
