Door County Candle Co. Kicks Off Tin Candle Initiative

Just 2 days after Russia launched it’s attack on Ukraine earlier this year, the Door County Candle Company in Carlsville began their fundraising project to help raise funds for humanitarian aid to those suffering in the conflict. By selling their blue & yellow “Ukraine Candles” and sending the proceeds to the non-profit “Razom for Ukraine” they have already raised over $800,000 to help support Ukrainians suffering in the ongoing war. This last Friday, the company began their new “Tin Candle Initiative” to help those in Ukraine in a new way. Owner Christiana Gorchynsky-Trepani details this new initiative…………

This new campaign began last Friday, but she says the idea started a few months ago, and there are multiple reasons why sending candles is so helpful at this time…………

In this “Tin Candle Initiative”, they also offer the option of including your own message to be hand-written and sent along with the candle to those receiving and using them. Gorchynsky-Trepani says in the first week they have already sold almost 2,000 tin candles……….

The candle company has also started selling another fundraising candle called “Thanks to Poland” which is red and white, the colors of the Polish flag. With increased sales in the Ukraine and Poland fundraising candles, they continue working towards that $1 million donation mark and beyond. You can help support their new “Tin Candle Initiative” either at their Carlsville store or online through their website “doorcountycandle.com”.
