Door County Burning Ban

A part of the temporary burning ban in Door County has been lifted, but other segments remain in place. The decision, based on input from Door County Emergency Management, the County Emergency Services Department & County Fire Chiefs now allows the use of campfires, including those not at developed campgrounds. However, the following open burning is still not permitted…the burning of refuse, debris piles, burn barrels, prescribed or broadcast burns & agricultural burning & fireworks. No burning permits will be issued for the prohibited activity. Any permits that have been issued, including those for fireworks, are still suspended & no longer valid. The open burning ban will remain in effect until further notice. Local authorities say the ban will not be lifted until conditions improve.
