Door County Budget Approved

A $68.6 million Door County budget was approved during the annual budget meeting of the Door County Board Tuesday morning. The budget features a tax levy of $25,011,368 & a tax rate of $3.55 per$1,000 of valuation for county purposes. Based upon criteria set up prior to the budget process, the 2013 budget contains no borrowing, uses all of its levy capacity & protects the county fund balance while transferring almost $434,000 from the “rainy day” fund to offset the tax levy.
