The Department of Natural Resources will host a public meeting to discuss the small mouth bass fishery in the waters of Lake Michigan and Green Bay surrounding Door County on Tuesday, October 15th at Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay. The meeting is expected to run from 6:30 to 8:30PM. The session will allow DNR staff members an opportunity to engage stakeholders and present information on the nationally known fishery. Information from recent surveys of Door County small mouth bass populations as well as specific research will be significant components of the meeting. In addition, gathering input from stakeholders will be a critical part of the meeting as well, including input on the current issues of importance to those who use the fishery.
DNR fisheries biologist Scott Hansen joined Door County Outdoors for a conversation about the meeting regarding Door County smallmouth bass management. You can listen to the clip below.
