The Door County Visitor Bureau has received a Wisconsin Trailblazer award for its outstanding insider experts social media campaign. The award was handed out by the Wisconsin Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus Friday at its fall tourism convention in Wisconsin Rapids. The insider expert writers program was established earlier this year as a way to tap into a consumer’s reliance on word of mouth information & recommendations from friends, family & experts for niche experience markets. The insiders have written blogs about food & wine, music, silent sports, arts & culture, motorcycling, & weddings. The Door County Visitor Bureau previously picked up trailblazer awards in 2011, 2009, 2006 & 2005.
