DCVB Brings Journalists to Door County

Eighteen journalists are scheduled to visit the Door peninsula this week as part of the Door County Visitor Bureau’s ongoing public relations efforts. The third of five scheduled group editorial press trips runs this week. Since 2007, the visitor bureau has partnered with Geiger & Associates public relations to help coordinate the organization’s mass media marketing program. Already, 29 journalists have been welcomed to the county this year & more than 40 travel writers will tour the peninsula between now & mid-October. Since the Door County Visitor Bureau’s media marketing program first began in the summer of 2007, 388 travel journalists have visited Door County on 27 different press tours. They have written 767 articles about the county, reaching an estimated audience of nearly 175 million individuals. The ad value of their stories has been pegged at nearly 7.5 million dollars.
