DC Historical Village Becomes Heritage Village

The Door County Historical Society has been doing the work of preserving the county’s history for close to 90 years. Its president, George Evenson, says the organization boasts more than 200 members dedicated to the idea of keeping alive the unique history of the Door peninsula. One way the society does that is its historical village at Crossroads at Big Creek in Sturgeon Bay. Besides the school there’s a granary, fish house, the Schopf & Warren homes, a church & the Greene general store.
