The beginning of work on County Trunk H, from County S to the North leg of County O is set to begin today(Monday, July 25). The plan was to start on June 18th, but an unexpected mechanical problem delayed the work by a week. Once started, the project will include pulverizing the existing asphalt surface, grading & compacting the road bed, & installation of a new blacktop roadway. 
There will be intermittent closures associated with the project. The plan is to maintain through traffic as safely as possible during the construction period. Door County Highway Commissioner John Kolodziej says motorists will need to be cautious because of loose gravel, road crews, & delays during construction operations. Detours may be established as the work progresses. Drivers can expect long delays when traveling through the construction zone. The use of alternate routes is strongly encouraged. All motorists are urged to use caution in the construction area & obey all special signage. It’s estimated that the project will be completed on or before August 19th.
