While the City of Sturgeon Bay awaits the completion of the construction of two replacement refuse trucks, the city council is moving forward on obtaining a loan to pay for the two vehicles. On Tuesday, the council will be asked to approve a resolution calling for making a loan application for $403,544 from the state trust fund loan program to pay for the two vehicles. If the resolution is okayed & the funding is forthcoming, the city would pay off the debt over a five year period with an interest rate of 2.5%. The city has delayed the implementation of its proposed refuse & recycling program because the schedule for fabricating the two specialty vehicles was pushed back.
