Council Approves Land Sale for Development

On a unanimous vote, & with no discussion, the Sturgeon Bay City Council Tuesday evening approved the sale of just under an acre of land at 1423 Egg Harbor Road to developers who plan to put up a Maurices Fashion Outlet on the site. United Development Group, LLC will pay $240,000 for the property. In a letter to the city, the development firm operated by Pat Flynn & Rick Johnson, indicated that 5,000 square feet of the building would be dedicated to the fashion store & another 1,500 square feet would be set aside for other retail purposes. The goal of the developers is to have the building located near the Neighborhood Pub ready for the 2012 Christmas season. Sixteen to twenty two full time equivalent positions could be created by the construction of the new building which represents a million dollar investment for the developers.
