Thirty five year old Brian Cooper of Plainfield, Illinois is expected to enter a plea to charges of first degree intentional homicide & third degree sexual assault during his arraignment today in Door County Circuit Court. Cooper is accused in the deaths of 21 year old Alisha Bromfield, also of Plainfield, & her unborn child at a Town of Nasewaupee resort on August 19th. Bromfield was more than six months pregnant at the time of her death. Cooper is also accused of having sex with her corpse. Court documents indicate that the Illinois man strangled Bromfield after she indicated she had no desire to have a relationship with him. The couple were in Door County to attend the wedding of Cooper’s sister.
