The Door County Administrative Committee has made it official. The seven person committee is recommending that Maureen Murphy, Village Administrator from Slinger, Wisconsin, be appointed the next Door County Administrator. Action was taken on the recommendation at a special meeting of the committee Monday at the Door County Government Center in Sturgeon Bay. Previously, the committee indicated that Murphy was its “candidate of choice,” but held off recommending her for the job until a background check was completed. The recommendation now goes to the full county board for action at its meeting Tuesday morning. Murphy has been Village Administrator in Slinger since 2006, was Assistant Administrator for the City of Mequon from 2002 to 2006 & spent ten years as Director of Legislative Affairs for Milwaukee County.
