Committee Focusing on New EMS Facility

An ad hoc building committee met Tuesday to work on the process that will eventually lead to the construction of a new emergency medical services facility in Sturgeon Bay. The current ambulance garage, constructed 25 years ago on property off South 18th Avenue and adjacent to Ministry Door County Medical Center, is inadequate to meet the department’s needs on several levels. The Door County Board has already set aside a million dollars for the project. Some of that funding has been earmarked for the future development of plans for the ambulance facility in Sturgeon Bay.
