“Clark” Building To Be Taken Down

A building that has been a part of Sturgeon Bay for more than 50 years is coming down. The old Clark Service Station in the 200 block of Michigan Street has not been operational for a couple of decades. It was purchased recently by Will Gregory who reportedly has plans to locate a food service facility on the site.

Over the years, the city receieved complaints that the structure was an eyesore and should be taken down, but a check of the building indicated that was structurally sound, so it remained a part of the busy street. However, Gregory decided it didn’t fit into his long-range plans and hired a contractor to raze it. The work began on Monday.
