Door County’s Cherryland Airport near Sturgeon Bay will share in $100,000 in state funding earmarked for upgrading runway markings as part of the 2014 airport pavement marking program. The lines fade due to weather & use & needed to be touched up from time to time. In addition, runway identification numbers, which are based on a runway’s orientation to the magnetic north pole, need to be periodically changed because magnetic north drifts slowly with the passage of time. The project is expected to begin this month & should be complete by the end of September.
