The president of the Brussels-Union-Gardner Fire Board says misleading and unauthorized information about the proposed fire stations and EMS garage project have been circulated to residents in the three town area. Glen Dart says the correspondence has been represented as coming from the “BUG” fire department accountant, but the information was inaccurate on several fronts and was not authorized by the department. According to information received by WDOR, Guy Locascio does not participate in any budget planning work nor any day to day operations of the fire department. He simply processes bills and writes out checks for the department, which he is paid to do. He has not had any involvement in three years of planning for the fire department and does not have any official title, power, authority or control in the department’s activities. Dart is encouraging residents in the Brussels-Union-Gardner Fire Department coverage area to visit www.bugfiredepartment.com to view the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the fire department proposal. Residents in Brussels, Union and Gardner will vote on the proposal as part of a referendum question on Tuesday’s ballot.
