The US Coast Guard, Door County Sheriff’s Department & DNR Warden Mike Neal responded to the report of a boater in trouble near Egg Harbor Wednesday evening as a storm blew through the area. At 9:33PM, authorities learned that the boat had run aground in the waters off the Alpine Resort. The vessel was part of a group of nine boats that were “rafting” when it broke loose & drifted toward the rocky shoreline. After insuring that everyone was safe, that there were no injuries & that the owner was working with a local salvage company to extricate the vessel, the operation was wrapped up & Coast Guard personnel returned to the station.
