The Wisconsin State Assembly designated the late Bo Johnson as a “Hometown Hero” Tuesday. Bo was nominated for the award by State Representative Garey Bies. His mother, Annika, accepted the award on his behalf. Bies said “Bo was a very special person who had a profound impact on the community. He was wise beyond his years & extremely worthy of this recognition.” The 13-year old Sister Bay area youth passed away in September of last year from an incurable form of leukemia. The Hometown Heroes program recognizes extraordinary individuals who have made their community & state proud because of their service to others through acts of selflessness & generosity. One clause of the citation presented to Annika Johnson reads…“Bo Johnson never lost his positive attitude or zest for life, inspiring an entire community to reach out & help others & to live life to the fullest.”
