The recent Big Bundle Up campaign in Door County was a huge success. A total of 844 cold weather items were collected in Door County during the campaign sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Tourism and the local tourism industry. Community members were encouraged to drop off new or gently used cold weather clothing at multiple locations across the county from November 22nd to January 2nd. Nearly all of the items collected were donated to the United Way of Door County. The Wisconsin Department of Tourism reported that just under 17,000 cold weather clothing items were collected at Wisconsin welcome centers and other tourist information centers around Wisconsin this year. Over the past four years, about 2,300 winter weather clothing items have been donated in Door County.
