Bayview Bridge Work Completed Quickly

A project on the Bayview Bridge in Sturgeon Bay was wrapped up a couple of hours earlier than anticipated Wednesday. One lane on the more than 30 year old span was closed to traffic while the deck was patched & drains were cleaned. Traffic was flowing in both lanes on the by-pass bridge by 1PM. A much larger rehabilitation project is planned for 2013 including deck replacement & the installation of remote controls that will allow the span to be operated from one location, part of the Department of Transportation’s plan to have one bridge tender operate all three of the bridges in Sturgeon Bay. That could happen as early as the fall of 2013. As for the Bayview Bridge project, the goal is to have the work completed next year before the 4th of July.
