After having been closed for nearly three months, the Bayview Bridge in Sturgeon Bay opened to traffic just after seven Friday morning. The renovation project on the 35 year-old span marked the first time a major makeover was completed on the structure since 2004. One difference local drivers will notice on the bridge is the flashing lights that will be operational around the clock. Not all the work has been completed. Sidewalks won’t open until July 28th. The DOT also indicates that electricians will continue with electrical controls installation and control and machinery testing. Machinery room enclosures will be installed and there will be general site cleanup No work is planned on the bypass bridge on Thursday and Friday.
