The state DOT has suggested that the detour take drivers coming from the South down Madison Avenue, across the Michigan Street Bridge and down Michigan Street to the highway. The North detour would begin on Egg Harbor Road, travel down Jefferson Street to 3rd Avenue, cross the Michigan Street Bridge and head back up Madison Avenue to Green Bay Road and the highway.
