Barn Fire Early Saturday

The Southern Door Fire Department responded to a barn fire in the early morning hours Saturday in the town of Forestville. The initial call came in at 3:07am and the first officer was on the scene within 3 minutes. He found the structure fully engulfed in flames. Mutual aid was called in from the Brussels-Union-Gardner and Sturgeon Bay Fire Departments. EMT’s from Door County Emergency Services were on stand-by. Soil specialists brought in a back hoe to help knock the fire down.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the blaze is yet to be determined. The scene was cleared at 7:14am and the structure is considered a total loss.
