ATC Plans to Rebuild Transmission Line

The American Transmission Company has filed a regulatory application with the Public Service Commission to rebuild a 69,000 volt transmission line between Dyckesville & Sturgeon Bay. David Hovde, ATC Local Relations Representative, says the line was built in the 1930’s & needs to be replaced for assured electric reliability in the area. Hovde says H-frame structures along the 25-mile line will be replaced with single pole structures in the same locations. If approved, construction would begin in September of 2015 & the line should be placed in service during the summer of 2016. Cost of the project is estimated at about $23 million.
