The Sturgeon Bay Police Department is continuing its investigation into two fires that were intentionally set in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 9th. the first fire was discovered at Otumba Park by a couple walking home. It was quickly extinguished by a crew of city firefighters. The fire caused minor damage to an electric meter & the park pavilion. The second fire happened at Saint Peter’s Church & was called in hours later. Only minor damage was reported at the church, primarily to a keyless entry box & the surrounding wall. Investigators also noticed that attempts were made to ignite two other places on the church building, but no damage resulted. During the investigation, officers also determined that both fires were set only minutes apart & surveillance video captured footage of a white male in his teens, wearing a dark shirt emblazoned with a skull, white socks & dark shoes.
