Bail of $2,000 cash was set in Door County circuit court Friday at the initial appearance of a 29 year old Sturgeon Bay woman accused of supplying the drug that contributed to the death of a 49 year old city man in October of last year. Andrea Esther faces a charge of first degree reckless homicide in connection with the death of Demetrias “Demo” Moya. Moya’s lifeless body was found at his apartment after a co-worker asked for a welfare check when he failed to show up for work at a Sturgeon Bay grocery store. According to the complaint filed on Thursday, Esther contacted Moya on October 14th & told him she had something special to share with him, pills that were better than oxycodone. She subsequently gave him 40 milligrams of oxymorphone which he reportedly ground up & snorted. It was noted in the court complaint that the amount of drug ingested rose to lethal levels. However, tests also showed that Moya had a high level of alcohol in his system & evidence that he had smoked marijuana. Esther is expected back in court at 10AM Monday with Judge Peter Diltz presiding.
