The 21st annual Shipyard Tour, sponsored by the Sturgeon Bay Rotary Club, offers a first-hand view of the world of ship repair & new construction at three yards in Sturgeon Bay on Saturday. From 9AM to 2PM, participants can take a guided tour of Bay Shipbuilding & great Lakes Yacht Services or try a self-guided walking tour of Palmer Johnson Yachts. Tickets will be available at each of the shipyard locations during the tour. The cost is $12 for adults & $6 for those 11 to 17 years of age. Children 10 & younger can take the tour for free. Back by popular demand, free guided tours of the US Coast Guard Cutter Mobile Bay will be available between 9AM & 2PM. Also this year, with the purchase of a Shipyard Tour ticket, attendees are eligible to receive 50% off admission to the Door County Maritime Museum & the restored tug, John Purves. Proceeds from the 2013 Shipyard Tour benefit local youth programs, projects & activities.
