Alley Work To Begin Monday

Sturgeon Bay City Engineer Tony Depies is reminding residents that sewer and water work in the ally near Louisiana Street on Monday will begin at 8am. Notices have been posted, a reminder that cars need to be removed from the Wilkins And Olander parking lot and the spaces just to the north as well as the Inn At Cedar Crossing lot. Paving should occur in about a week. After consulting with representatives of Peters Concrete, Sturgeon Bay Utilities has decided to disconnect and remove the streetlight feed and pole that feeds the circuit on the north side of Louisiana Street, wrapping around the corner near the Inn At Cedar Crossing, and then going north along the east side of 3rd Avenue to the end of the circuit near Pooh’s Corner Pub on Kentucky Street.

Because Peters Concrete will be digging up the underground conduit system during the installation of storm sewer, there is no easy way to provide a temporary feed. The disconnection is expected Monday with the hope of making repairs by the following weekend. On a positive note, the circuits on the opposite sides of the streets will be in operation so the area will not be completely dark.
