The Algoma Fire & Rescue memorial is now finished. A dedication ceremony will be held Sunday at 3PM. The memorial was designed by two artists with ties to Algoma according to Chief Tom Ackerman…[audio:http://wdor.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/K14.mp3|titles=Chief Tom Ackerman]
Ackerman told WDOR there would be a short program at the memorial, which is located right on the lake shore, just south of the Algoma Chamber of Commerce visitor center. He told us that the cost was a bit more than $80,000 & that they have raised almost the entire amount.
