A 28 year old Door County resident was injured in a fall off a cliff Tuesday afternoon at Door Bluff Headlands County Park, in the Town of Liberty Grove, just North of Ellison Bay. The Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Fire Department was paged out shortly before 3PM & was joined by personnel from the Door County Sheriff’s Department, emergency services, the Gibraltar Fire Department, & the Department of Natural Resources. Fire Chief Chris Hecht says the initial units on the scene had to first confirm what the accident was & did so once they found the victim’s companion. The helicopter then flew the victim to a Green Bay hospital for treatment. Chief Hecht praised the work of personnel from all of the agencies involved, noting that the job couldn’t have been accomplished as quickly & efficiently without the cooperative effort.
