4th Avenue Reconstruction Update

The 4th Avenue road project in downtown Sturgeon Bay has, for the most part, enjoyed good weather conditions & real progress is being made. City engineer Tony Depies says the concrete sidewalks are now complete except for the bumpout areas & they will be completed after the first pass of the concrete road pavement. Depies says all of the red concrete terrace has been completed & the road is now ready for paving. He says the bumpouts will be constructed on Monday & Tuesday, paving will resume next Wednesday & should be completed by Friday, June 8th, & all pedestrians will be directed to cross the road at Michigan or Jefferson Street. Crossing the street will be allowed when the concrete has had a minimum of curing time. Depies also says it still hasn’t been determined when the work in alley will be completed, but the parking lot & side roads are expected to be paved with asphalt on or about June 20th.
