A project expected to take eight to nine weeks started Monday on North 3rd Avenue, between Iowa & Florida streets, in Sturgeon Bay. The plan calls for Peters Concrete, Incorporated & its sub-contractors to remove & replace all of the sanitary sewer, water main & some storm sewer as well as the services to each property within the right of way. Curbing & sidewalk will be also removed & replaced. City Engineer Tony Depies says the street should re-open to vehicles in late June, but the final date could be affected by weather conditions. Depies says it’s possible, during the course of the project, that homeowners in the neighborhood may not have access to their homes & water services may be affected. He says every effort will be made to provide advance notice.
