Wolves Win Championship

The Algoma softball swept a double header from Sevastopol and clinched the Packerland Conference Championship at Peterson Park on Tuesday. The Wolves broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the 5th inning when Ryley Zimmerman laced a 2 run single that scored Natalie Ray and Jadyn Nellis. Hannah Nell added an RBI single in the inning and Brooke Mattson finished with two hits. Macie Zimmerman struck out 14 for Algoma. Naomi Rikkola tripled for the Pioneers, who left the bases loaded in the 7th inning. It’s Algoma’s first softball title since 2019.
