Wolves pull away from Eagles

The Algoma girls basketball team beat Southern Door 55-33 on Friday night at Algoma High School.  The Wolves showed excellent scoring balance with five players scoring 8 or more points.  Karissa LeCaptain scored 13, Taylor Schmidt 11, Kennedy Blahnik 9 and Lindsey Kirchman and Abby Bluett scored 8 each.  The Wolves (2-0, 3-0) outscored the Eagles (0-2, 0-3) 32-18 in the second and third quarters.  Cheyenne McFarlin led Southern Door with 12 points, Rachel Andres added 9.

Sturgeon Bay beat N-E-W Lutheran, 59-39
Kewaunee beat Sevastopol, 58-16
Oconto beat Gibraltar, 68-29

In Bay Conference girl’s basketball:
New London beat Luxemburg-Casco, 46-15
