The WIAA volleyball tournament opened Tuesday night with matches in Divisions 2,3 and 4. Seven area teams were in action:
In Division 2:
Sturgeon Bay beat Southern Door in five sets (22-25, 26-24, 23-25, 25-14, 15-10)
Sturgeon Bay will play at Green Bay Notre Dame Thursday
Luxemburg-Casco swept Marinette (25-7, 25-12, 25-5)
Luxemburg-Casco will host West De Pere Thursday
In Division 3:
Valders beat Gibraltar in four sets (25-16, 13-25, 25-16, 25-21)
Algoma swept Cedar Grove – Belgium (25-18, 25-12, 25-9)
Algoma will play at New Holstein Thursday
Howards Grove swept Kewaunee (25-15, 25-12, 25-9)
In Division 4:
Sevastopol beat Oakfield in five sets (23-25, 25-22, 25-17, 19-25, 15-7)
Sevastopol will play at N-E-W Lutheran Thursday
