wissports.net reported on Friday Night that the Messmer/Shorewood co-op team is the school with the pending litigation. The WIAA rule in question reads as follows: “Teams that voluntarily withdraw from a conference shall be ineligible for playoff football consideration the next four school years.” Messmer/Shorewood withdrew from the Woodland Conference in 2007.
Teams like Sturgeon Bay, Algoma, Kewaunee and Luxemburg-Casco will not know their playoff pairings until approximately 5:00pm Monday.
