WIAA Football Playoffs begin tonight

The journey to a WIAA State Football Championship begins this weekend for 224 teams divided into 7 different divisions.  Sturgeon Bay, Algoma, Kewaunee and Luxemburg-Casco all qualified for the postseason.  The Wolves and Spartans begin their march toward Madison tonight. 

 In Division 6, Algoma will play Tri-County at Southern Door at 7:00pm.  The Wolves (8-1) finished in a three way tie for the Olympian/Packerland Small Championship, while the Penguins (6-3) are making their second playoff appearance in school history.  WDOR will broadcast, the Witt Ford Lincoln pregame show begins at 6:45 tonight.

In Division 3, Luxemburg-Casco will host Plymouth tonight.  The Spartans (8-1) finished second behind West DePere in the Bay Conference, while the Panthers (7-2) were runners-up to Kewaskum in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference.

Saturday-  Sturgeon Bay plays at Kiel at 2:00, we’ll have the broadcast on WDOR; and defending State Champion Kewaunee will host Peshtigo at 2:00 on Saturday.
