Washington Island is now 3-3 after winning at Baileys Harbor Sunday. Sister Bay is 5-0 after Sunday’s slate of games while Egg Harbor put up double digit runs at home against Institute and West Jacksonport at Kolberg was postponed due to wet field conditions. Here are Sunday’s details:
Washington Island won at Baileys Harbor, 4-1. The Islanders tied the game at one in the fifth and then took the lead for good with another run in the sixth. Washington Island would tack on two extra insurance runs in the top of the ninth. Alex Johnson collected three hits in the win. Matt Foss (3-1) went the first six innings for the win while Brandon Emery-Janzen pitched the ninth for his first save. Austin Rohe had three hits for Baileys Harbor while Brett Kinnard added two. Lucas Stephenson (0-2) took the loss for Baileys Harbor.
Sister Bay blanked Maplewood. 3-0. Sam Forkert (4-0) pitched the first seven for the win while Bubba Laughlin pitched two scoreless innings for the save. Sister Bay scored all three of their runs in the third. Dusty Johnson had an RBI single and James Larsen plated a pair of runs with a hit. Johnson and Tom Sawyer each had two hits in the win. Kyle Ploor (2-2) pitched six innings and took the loss.
Egg Harbor beat Institute, 11-6. Cody Giesseman, Nick Kita and Joe Sawyer all had two hits in the win. Nick Kita (2-0) pitched six innings for the win. Kyle Volkmann (0-4) went four innings and took the loss.
West Jacksonport at Kolberg was postponed due to wet field conditions.
