The Gibraltar girls basketball team opened their season with a 44-43 win over Algoma on Tuesday Night. Sage Krause scored a game high 17 points and hit a go ahead three pointer with :36 seconds to play. Sophia Alexander added 12 points while the Wolves were led by Hanna Wiese (16) and Emily Kirchman (13).
Southern Door opened their season with a 56-44 win over NEW Lutheran in Green Bay. Nicole Norton finished with a game high 34 points to lead the Eagles while Alliana Dufek added 9 points.
Luxemburg-Casco beat Marinette, 57-15, as the Spartans improve to (1-1). Taylor Thiry led L-C with 16 points while Lauren Adams and Maggie Hanmann added 10 each.
The Southern Door boys lost their opener, 69-56, to Denmark. The Eagles cut a 43-33 second half deficit to 49-47 before the Vikings answered with 13-4 burst to put the game out of reach. Denmark was led by Cayden DeGrave with 25 points while Hayden Konkol and Donovan Short added 21 each. The Eagles were led Alex Daoust (15) Devin Schinktgen (14) and Logan Jeanquart (10).
Sevastopol opened with a 62-30 win over the Northeast Wisconsin Christian Homeschoolers Athletic Association. Cole Dvorak finished with 14 points while Hunter Bemmann added 11, Jack de Young 9 and Logan Beyer 8 to lead the Pioneers.
