Racine Saint Catherine’s beat Gibraltar 3-2 in a WIAA Division 3 baseball Sectional Final at Ripon College on Tuesday. The Angels (14-15) took a 3-0 lead in the top of the 3rd inning on a bloop RBI double from Jimmy Carrington and 2-run single by Caleb Gillis. The Vikings (11-12) answered in the bottom of the third when Jack Brennan walked and scored on a wild pitch and Cam Zak scored on an error in the 6th inning. After Austin Bauldry double to lead off the 7th inning, Derek Heffel entered and retired three straight to end the game. Jack Brennan had 2 hits for Gibraltar while Nick Kita pitched all 7 innings and allowed only 5 hits. The Vikings left 11 runners on base. Saint Catherine’s will play defending State Champion Oconto next Wednesday at Fox Cities Stadium.

Gibraltar beat Brookfield Academy 7-2 on Wednesday morning as Anthony Laughlin fired a 2-hitter. The Vikings scored 5 runs on 6 hits in the second inning, and all runs in the game were scored with 2 outs. Nick Kita had 3 hits while Laughlin, Ben Snell and Alex Janisse had 2 each.
