Fourteen members of the Door County YMCA Strivers Gymnastics Team competed at the YMCA Gymnastics National Competition held in Savannah, Georgia this past weekend. Sophia Pollman, Emily Ulberg and Reetika Jandu all brought home national titles as the Strivers acquired 29 total medals.
Sophia Pollman, XCel Gold gymnast, won a gold medal on the uneven bars with a score of 9.35. Pollman becomes the first Striver gymnast to earn back-to-back national titles. In 2012, Pollman won gold on the vault. This year, Pollman also finished fifth in the all-around (34.625) and sixth in the floor (9.20).
Emily Ulberg, a Level 3 gymnast, claimed her first national title as she posted a score of 9.35 on the balance beam. She finished in the top three in every event, becoming the first Striver to accomplish the feat. Ulberg earned a silver on bars (8.8875), silver on the vault (9.225), silver in the all-around (36.425) and a bronze on the floor (9.0).
Reetika Jandu, a Level 4 gymnast, brought home a national title on vault (9.50).

Miya Eliyah (Level 3) – silver on floor (9.4), fourth on vault (9.0), bars (8.925) and all-around (35.975)
Emma Reichel (Level 3) – silver on beam (9.2), bronze on vault (8.95), fifth on bars (8.35) and all-around (34.60)
Alexis McCarthy (Level 3) – silver on beam (9.15)
Alexa Nelson (Level 4) – bronze on bars (8.825), sixth on beam (8.8), seventh on floor (8.875), fourth in all-around (35.15)
Jenna Seiler (Level 7) – eighth on bars (8.3)
Jackie Mosgaller (Level 7) – sixth on bars (8.6)
Allyson Dickson (Level 7) – eighth on vault (9.12) and beam (8.825)
Abby Thiede (Level 7) – seventh on bars
