Iola-Scandinavia beat Algoma 46-27 in a WIAA Division 6 Level 2 playoff game at Southern Door on Friday Night. The Wolves (9-1) took a 21-7 lead with less than 8 minutes to play in the first half only to see the Thunderbirds (9-2) score three td’s in the final 4:14 of the half, including a 13 yard pass from Nick Wavruk to Isaac Lashua with no time left on the clock that gave Iola-Scandinavia the lead for good. Hunter Prokash threw three touchdown passes for Algoma, connecting with Sam Koss, Elliot Prokash and Austen Dart. Ben Sealey added a rushing td for Algoma. Quarterback Nick Wavruk totaled 5 td’s for the Thunderbirds.
