Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol Finishes 5th At Sectionals

The Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol girls swimming team finished fifth at the WIAA Division 2 sectional at Plymouth Saturday.  Sectional champion Plymouth had 332 team points, Shorewood 318, Whitefish Bay 302, Grafton 272, and Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol 228.

Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol had two relay teams qualify for state:
The 200 yard medley relay team (Arica Smith, Morgan Buckham, Chloe Peterson, Savanna Townsend) finished third at sectionals.
The 200 yard freestyle relay team (Arica Smith, Brit Ehlers, Chloe Peterson, Savanna Townsend) finished second at sectionals.

These individual swimmers qualified for the state meet:
Savanna Townsend finished third in the 50 yard freestyle and third in the 100 yard butterfly.
Arica Smith finished fourth in the 50 yard freestyle and second in the 100 yard freestyle.
Morgan Buckham finished sixth in the 100 yard breaststroke.

The WIAA Division 2 state swim meet will be held Friday, November 11th at the UW-Natatorium in Madison.
