Sturgeon Bay Boys Soccer Heading To State

The Sturgeon Bay boys soccer team beat Central Wisconsin Christian in a Division 4 sectional final Saturday night.  The contest was tied at one after two overtimes and went to a shootout, which the Clippers won 3-2.  Sturgeon Bay advances to state for a third time and it will be their first appearance since 2011.  Sturgeon Bay will take on University School of Milwaukee in a Division 4 state semifinal Thursday at 12 PM at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee.  The other Division 4 state semifinal has Barron taking on The Prairie School at 2 PM Thursday.  The Division 4 state championship match will be played at 10 AM Saturday.

The University School of Milwaukee is making its second appearance at state and their first appearance since 2008.  Barron is making its first appearance at state in boys soccer.  The Prairie School will be making their sixth state appearance and first since winning the Division 3 state title in 2011.

In Division 2: Notre Dame beat Luxemburg-Casco in four games (22-25, 25-12, 25-12, 25-11)
In Division 3: Oconto swept Coleman (25-15, 25-23, 25-19)
In Division 4: N-E-W Lutheran beat Heritage Christian in four games (25-17, 14-25, 25-15, 25-7)
