Sturgeon Bay advanced to the 15 year old Babe Ruth District Tournament Championship game after beating Bay Port 12-7 on Thursday. Keith Lehmann and David Van Dreese combined to pitch the win. Van Dreese and Lehmann singled and tripled, Riley Cordier singled and doubled while Joey Sheehy and Nick Kita singled twice. Green Bay beat Marinette 13-2 and Bay Port 11-9 on Thursday. Sturgeon Bay will play Green Bay at 5pm, with the two teams meeting at 7:30 if Green Bay wins Game 1. The tournament is being played at Memorial Field in Sturgeon Bay.
At the 14 year old District Tournament at Shawano, Sturgeon Bay lost to the host team 16-10 and was forced to forfeit their game with Bay Port. Sturgeon Bay returns to Shawano to play again on Saturday.
At the 13 year old District Tournament at Bay Port, Sturgeon Bay beat Stevens Point 8-4. Austin Lardinois went the distance for the win, while Cooper Nellis led the offense with two hits. Bay Port rallied from an 8-2 deficit to beat Sturgeon Bay 15-8. Trevor Hawkey had two hits and Lardinois had an RBI double. Sturgeon Bay plays at Wausau on Saturday.
