The Door County YMCA Striver Gymnastic Team kicked off their season this weekend in Manitowoc competing in the eight-team Manitowoc “Luau” Invitational meet.
The Striver’s won the Silver Team division with a total Team score of 111.75. Individually, the team captured 21 individual medals.
Medaling in the 11 and under age group were:
Ellie Kelsey–bars (1st) floor(2nd) beam (2nd) and 1st on All Around
Delaney Allen–floor (2nd) beam (3rd) and 5th in the All Around.
Brinley Newton–bars (4th) beam (4th floor (4th) vault (7th) and 4th All Around
In the 12 and up age group:
Lauren Gaida–beam (1st) vault (1st) bars (2nd) floor (3rd) and 1st in All Around
Sawyer Soukup–floor (1st) beam (1st) bars (4th) vault (4th) and 2nd in the All Around
Keira Clark–floor (1st) beam (3rd) bars (6th) vault (8th) and 2nd in the All Around
Evelynn Kelsey–floor (2nd) vault (5th) bars (6th) and 4th in the All Around
Greta Virgin–beam (2nd) floor (4th) and 7th in the All Around.
Shaylyn Asher and Ann Gallardo Ibarra swept the Platinum division.
Shaylyn–floor (1st) beam (1st) bars (2nd) and 1st in All Around
Anna– bars (1st) vault (2nd) beam (2nd) and 2nd in All Around.
Level Seven gymnasts grabbed a Bronze Team Trophy and 10 individual medals
In the 14 and under age group:
Estelle Duerst–bars (2nd) beam (3rd) vault (5th) and 2nd in All Around
Amira Anschutz–vault (3rd) beam (6th)
In the 15 and over Age group
Portia Hah–beam (1st) bars (3rd) vault (6th) and 1st in All Around
The girls will compete next weekend in the Heart of the Valley Invitation in Kimberly.
