Storm, Eagles Clinch League Titles

The Kewaunee softball team rallied from a 5-0 deficit and clinched their first conference championship in school history with a 10-9 win over Peshtigo on Friday. The Bulldogs built their lead on a 3 run home run from Bethany Ahrens and RBI hits from Allison Dudka and Lexi Kehoe. But the Storm answered with a three run third as Emma Hallgren drove in two and another scored on an error. After scoring a run in the fourth inning to make it 5-4, Kewaunee scored 6 runs in the 5th inning to take the lead for good on a Toni Bortolini bases clearing double. Hallgren finished with 3 hits/3 RBI while Elizabeth Rohr and Mykenzie Uhlers had two hits, Natalie Stangel scored 3 runs and Cierra Brann scored twice and winning pitcher Claire Kohnle finished with 7 strikeouts. Karlie Cahill had 3 hits to lead the Bulldogs while Allison Peters, Dudka, Ahrens (3 RBI) and Kehoe all had two hits.
