Southern Door (1-0 / 2-0) opened the Packerland Conference season with a 70-50 home win over Oconto (0-1 / 1-1) Friday night. The Eagles led 21-12 after the first quarter and were up 35-26 at the half. Southern Door then outscored Oconto in the second half, 35-24 to give head coach Josh Rankin his first varsity win at home and first varsity victory in conference play. Mitchell Gerend led the Eagles with 17 points while Austin Rohe chipped in 13. Conner Moe had 17 for the Blue Devils.
