Sister Bay holds a one game lead over Egg Harbor in the Door County League with those two teams set to meet in the final week of the regular season. Both the Bays and Indians and Baileys Harbor and West Jacksonport picked up wins Sunday. Here is the week 13 recap:
West Jacksonport won at Washington Island, 8-2. The Ports scored all eight of their runs over the final three innings with three of those runs coming in the seventh. Alec Schartner hit a two-run homer in the seventh for West Jacksonport. Woody Schartner, Griffen Cole and David Van Dreese all had two hits in the win. Van Dreese went the distance for the victory. Caleb Cornell had two hits including a home run for the Islanders. Branden Emery Jenzen took the loss.
Sister Bay beat Institute, 16-2. The Bays erased a 2-1 deficit by scoring six times in the third. Stuart Larsen homered in the win. He and Bubba Laughlin each had three hits. Matt Hecht, Tucker Emerson and Sam Forkert all had two hits. Forkert pitched the first five for the win. Josh Paul and Mike Zimmerman each with two hits for the Cubs. Eric Pecard took the loss.
Egg Harbor beat Maplewood, 6-0. The Indians scored once in the second inning for the only run they would need. Cody and Casey Giesseman each had two hits in the win, which went to Al Byrne. He pitched seven innings for the win with Nick Kita finishing the shutout. Jordan Jorgenson and Zach Marchant each had two hits for the Mets. Nick Brauer took the loss.
Baileys Harbor beat Kolberg, 21-11. Austin Rohe and Daniel Case each had three hits in the win. Derek Niedzwiecki had two hits. Case pitched the first seven for the win. Isaac Berkley had three hits for the Braves, while Nick LeCaptain, Hunter Pawleski and Trevor Reinhardt all had two. Reinhardt took the loss.
